Lambda Athena [Bronze - Mirror Polished]

This is a beautiful well made razor that is lovely to handle and use. It has a nice heft to it, very similar in weight to a stainless steel razor and one can use that weight to get a close and comfortable shave. I have used the razor about 4 times so far with two different blades, a Wilkinson and an Astra - each blade being used twice.
The shaves were nice and close without any nicks or cuts and I was able to complete shaving with just a couple of passes - once with the grain and once across. There is a bit of blade feel around the chin and lips but nothing to worry about - the razor made short work of two days of growth so it is very efficient as well. The base plate is unique in that the lather is pushed through the channels rather than through any holes in the base plate - did not have any issues with clogging up and a swish in a bowl of hot water got rid of any lather quickly.
Cleanup is very easy as it is a three piece razor - just separate the pieces, rinse under the tap and let it air dry before the next use. I'm very happy with this purchase - this razor is a keeper and should last a long time.

From opening the package, the booklet, the incredibly beautiful wooden box, to the razor itself, it's a dream. And the razor shaves just as well. The craftsmanship is superb. It's almost too beautiful to use. But no, I use it every day. Many thanks to the Lambda Razors team, also for the straightforward ordering process via the waiting list and the very fast delivery. No learning curve here . Threw my favorite blade in and shaves like a dream. Other razors I’m still working at such as bbti. This instantly feels like “if i had one razor…” ditto to it being a little more efficient than you think you are feeling. Some razors you have to add some pressure to get a closer bite this will trick you if you start smashing it into your face . Lupo 95 is my other favorite and this is like the premium idea.. love it

Smooth, efficient and a work of art!

I’ve been using the Lambda Athena for two weeks. I’ve formed a solid impression of it and I really loved using it. It’s my new favorite.

I had never owned a bronze safety razor before. It worked very well with my skin — I was worried it might cause irritation or an allergic reaction. With its polished surface, it glides smoothly while shaving.

The head design feels like a balance between an open comb and a closed comb. Mr. Theodoros has achieved a very nice balance.
The craftsmanship is top-tier. It’s hard to describe — it really needs to be seen in person. With its box and documentation, the presentation gives a premium feeling.

I don’t want to compare it with other razors — this is a very special piece. With its smooth cutting character, it can even be used daily. It’s gentle but effective on the face — it doesn’t feel aggressive, it cuts and glides.
A very well-balanced safety razor. You feel its presence, but it’s not tiring or overly heavy.

A gorgeous razor with exceptional performance. So mild and smooth, yet so efficient. Unlike any other razor I have owned. The design is fantastic. The flared end of the handle is a perfect resting spot for my little finger. Very nice weight that takes care of business with almost no pressure applied. Theo provides first-class customer service. Great communication. You will not regret purchasing this razor.

This was just to bring my bronze Athena up to V2, although it really makes only a small cosmetic difference (rounded smooth corners on V2). The shave is not significantly changed. I am just a bit OCD regarding my favorite razors.

The most impressive piece of art, very intuitive nice and smooth shaving experience, highly recommended for sensitive skin, mild - medium operation wonderful DE safety razor. But for me I have only one small issue - weight. Definitely brass option is a little bit to heavy I would rather stay with Titanium

I was looking for a razor that was both effective and gentle enough for daily use. I had heard about the Athena and decided to take the risk.
I was on several waiting lists, and the bronze version was the first to become available. Its lower price compared to other materials also made it a more conservative purchase, especially since I wasn’t exactly sure what I was buying.

I must say, the razor surprised me: the feel is excellent, as is the balance. The shave is deep without being irritating or overly aggressive, and the razor glides on its own—you don't even need to be fully awake when shaving.

It handles blades from various brands with no issue, which wasn’t always the case with other razors I’ve used.

The finish is perfect and very well-crafted, as is the packaging.
The razor is quite large, so it may feel a bit heavy for some users—especially in the bronze version.

I do somewhat miss having a proper stand: the handle has a wider bottom and, while it’s not difficult to find balance, a bit of care is always needed.
The water flow inside the head isn’t very high, so lather tends to get stuck a bit during rinsing.

Between the handle and the head, there's a plastic washer that helps preserve the fit and prevents scratching. Unfortunately, there’s only one included in the package. It could be easily lost, and while it’s not an essential part, it would have been nice to have a few spares included in the case.

In any case, I think it's an excellent razor and a fine piece of craftsmanship.

I have been a devoted fan of the R41 for many years. Sometimes I switch to his younger brother, the R95, but after buying the Lambda Athena, I'm genuinely surprised at how smoothly he shaves, but I never get the feeling that he's about to cut off my ears like the R41! As per the e-mail of thanks I sent to Theo, he's made a retired man very very happy, The Presentation ( the gorgeous Mahogony box and felt inserts) and Performance (BBS with a 2 pass shave, visible rinse clean viewing, balance and grip) equals Perfection!! So much so I have my name down for the proposed AC razor and seriously contemplating an Ares (Not sure V1 or2?)

Wonderful razor. It's so mild, but it archives BBS every time. It's an incredible tool; you feel the work behind it when you handle it. It kinda "sings" when doing an ATG pass, making it so easy to adjust the pressure so you're left with no razor burns.
Looking forward to seeing how it holds up over time.

Athena is seriously a perfect piece of art. Not only does it do an amazing job with shaving, but it also doubles as a beautiful piece to display in your shaving setup, just there to admire. After you’ve done a good warm-up on your skin, using it feels like a goddess gently caressing your face and neck with her tongue. All in all, I absolutely love it!
